Connected Environments

How can we create gardens that develop stronger connections to Geelong and the greater region?

At Phillip Withers, we start with the landscape. The climate, the soil, what is already growing and the way a place changes through the seasons all help shape a garden.

Planting is never simply decorative. It is a considered practice grounded in research. We select species to encourage biodiversity and design for long term performance.

Our installation will bring together a mix of native and exotic plants suited to Geelong and the greater region, sourced from the local growers who cultivate them, an argument for designing with region rather than against it.
