We recently completed a project in Glen Iris for a beautiful family whom were looking to improve their existing severely sloped block in readiness for the modular house by Archiblox. Not only was there harsh grading to contend with, the site also looked to host a number of levels that did not formerly connect and an existing pool that needed to be highly considered in its approach.
We set out to design a space that worked with the existing pool and create an environment to surround. We wanted to soft views out from the architecture. Other out to water and nature from the balcony and ground level architecture.
We looked to work with the architecture to continue a natural Australian architectural palette such as the Ironbark decking, which creates organic shapes to warm and soften the heavily hard surface area. It also incorporates random bluestone paths and coping details above a natural render wall to present a seamless and soft edge to the pool area.
The plant palette looked to create a luscious, green and textural palette to help build a feeling to embody the pool area as it establishes. A beautiful garden to be involved in and we look forward to seeing the garden grow with the family to give them years of a beautiful lifestyle out in nature.
