The Phillip Withers team is comprised of plant people, process people and pet people, but the one thing we share is that we’re all people people. We believe the best ideas often begin around a shared table, fuelled by curiosity, collaboration and plenty of laughter.

Phillip Withers is an award-winning landscape architecture and horticulture practice creating nature-led landscapes across Australia. With studios in Melbourne and Geelong, we work with clients nationwide, specialising in residential, boutique commercial and public landscapes responding to climate, ecology and how people live.
Led by Landscape Architect Phillip Withers, our multidisciplinary team works across every project stage, from concept and planting design through to documentation, procurement and construction support.
Horticulture sits at the heart of our practice. Every landscape responds to site, climate and performance, creating places that are beautiful, resilient and built to evolve with time. We work with architects, builders and clients, connecting people, architecture and nature.
Central to our approach is our fascination with creating landscapes that connect people to place. Our philosophy helps bring these gardens into form, and is underscored by four pillars:
Connected Environments
Every landscape is part of a larger network of living systems. We design to enhance biodiversity and support ecological resilience, prioritising responsible materials and water-sensitive design for outcomes that endure.
Deeply Invested
Being deeply invested starts with a genuine passion for landscape. We are curious, committed people who care deeply about the environments we create and those we create them for, immersing ourselves in our clients’ aspirations from concept to completion.
Shared Vision
A shared vision is more than alignment on a brief. It is bringing clients, consultants and our team together around a clear, compelling idea, so everyone understands not only what is being created, but why.
Purposeful Practice
Exceptional landscapes are not created by chance, but through discipline where every element has purpose. It is the bridge between creativity and rigour, the foundation of how we design, decide and deliver lasting value.
